Runway To Hope- Event Recap

On December 18th, 2022, the Forever Moriah Foundation hosted its inaugural “Runway To Hope” Charity Fashion Show benefitting Childhood Cancer. The event took place at Spotsylvania Towne Center, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Titling this event “A Christmas Story” we shined light on childhood cancer, an epidemic that is often overlooked. Childhood Cancer research is known to be a severely underfunded cause, with less than 4% of federal funding being dedicated to research. The highlight of the evening was an inspiring and heartwarming Christmas-themed fashion show featuring many incredibly brave children, all of whom are currently battling or have overcome pediatric cancer as well as bereaved siblings walking in honor of their loved one.

“It was an incredible experience to watch these kids display their tenacious, unwavering spirits as they strutted and smile down the runway!” said Sharday.

Sharday's two children Josiah (8) and Faith (6), walked in honor of Moriah.

“Moriah’s favorite holiday was Christmas, and even though she’s not physically here, being able to spread holiday cheer to children battling cancer in her honor is something our family holds dear to our hearts,” Mario states.

In addition to the Runway event, we also collected toys on site for our annual toy drive. Toys collected benefited childhood cancer fighters spending their holidays impatient at local Children’s Hospitals and local Ronald McDonald Houses.
